A Summer Tradition
Green-Fields Swim Club officially opened on July 4, 1957, with the first full season and launch of the swim team taking place in 1958 under the direction of the original Board of Directors, who also served as lifeguards. The first bond was purchased by Bob Budd and the first pool manager was Bill McFadden.

It becomes summer when "THE POOL" opens! The best days of our lives. Family time at Green-Fields Swim Club, Jessup Road, West Deptford, NJ. The kids loved it, played outside ALL DAY and parents developed life long friendships. Sunday dinner meant hauling coolers to the picnic area and became happy table-hopping and lots of laughs, wet towels, dear Joyce Braswell announcing over the PA, "Racket ball game in 5 minutes". Big guys and little guys on the basketball court. "Come On Over" in the diving well always ended the night with 5 year olds to teenagers all in the game. Tennis tournaments. Maybe pickleball in the future? The mad rush to book your table for July 4th. And the legendary Green-Fields Swim Team! - MaryAnn

Every summer at Green-Fields is filled with excitement, from finally earning your green band to warm nights hanging out with your summer friends in the picnic area. Enjoy games of 'Come on Over' and the craziness of the 4th of July, creating cherished family memories that last a lifetime. It is our family's plans for the summer! - Gary

Green-Fields means family to me. Every summer feels like I’m coming back 'home' to my second family. I am very thankful that my family joined the pool when I was 8 & Under. It is such a gift to share fun memories with kids of all ages at the swim club and on the swim team/Turtle Kids. I have so much love for the club and will cherish every memory I have made there. Personally, I have so many fond memories from growing up at the pool and now sharing it with my own family. Green Fields is one of my “happy places” and is the core of all my childhood summer memories . Some of my favorites are Sunday dinners in the picnic area , rushing home to make sure we got to Sunday night water polo , tennis camp on 90 degree days and taking turns paging each other to the front desk so we could take a quick dip and winning tri county when we hosted when I was 10 years old! - Catherine
